The Center for Public Integrity is seeking a computer-assisted reporting journalist to join its Data Team. This reporter will use spreadsheets, database managers, mapping tools, and statistical software to analyze data for outliers, trends, patterns and other newsworthy information for the Center's investigative reports.

The Center for Public Integrity was founded in 1989 as a non-partisan investigative journalism organization working in the public interest and focusing on the quality of its work, regardless of where the findings lead. The Center does not serve as an advocate for certain points of view nor does it take positions on issues. Rather, the Center seeks to do the hard digging and present the highly credible facts and evidence, thus serving as a catalyst for others to take action, change laws, or develop policy recommendations.

The organisation is looking for candidates with strong data analysis skills, experience using SQL, working knowledge of basic statistics and working knowledge of statistical mapping. Candidates will have demonstrated their ability to use their data skills to produce cutting-edge investigative reports. Ideal candidates will have advanced problem solving skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and the capacity to work well with a diverse range of individuals in a team environment.

The Center offers competitive salary and a generous benefits package. It’s located in Washington, DC on Farragut Square with Metro access. Please forward your applications via email.
